Job description The role will provide a range of challenging, dynamic and high-profile projects where you will have the ability to receive and develop a brief and contribute to the development of the design and construction process.
The successful candidate will be supporting the Team Leader in water treatment, supply and strategy development projects.
- Design of water retaining structures and water treatment process design
- Undertake civil design of pipe work and drainage to specified standards and practices
- Project manage projects, either design or strategic studies
- Mentoring of graduates
- To direct work of CAD draughtsmen to produce detail design drawings in an efficient manner
Candidate specification
Essential requirements:
- MEng/BEng or equivalent in Civil Engineering
- Experience and exposure of a range of water engineering solutions
- Ability to work with the minimum of supervision and on own initiative
- Candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and external clients/contacts at all times
- Possess excellent time and resource management skills
- Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy
Desirable requirements:
- Ideally, have Chartered status
- Ideally experience working in UK water design engineering
- Exposure to hydraulic design would be advantageous
