My Client is an established engineering company and has been manufacturing mounting equipment for the past 25 years.
Due to Company expand now we are looking for SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER!
Ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate the following :
• A sheet metal fabrication or engineering skill background
• Conversant in welding & fabrication technologies with the ability to interpret technical drawings
• Proven experience in an engineering estimating role
• Laser cutting background an advantage
• Excellent computer skills
• Experience of Autocad an advantage.
• Ability to work well under pressure both on own initiative & as part of a team.
Welding or Fabrication experience / background / knowledge is essential. You will be working as part of a busy production team in a general engineering company managing varied and interesting projects. As a part of your duties you won’t be required to draught or estimate for work but CAD experience will be a big advantage as may be required to amend or do more simple drawings.
The ideal candidate will be computer literacy and have a previous experience working as time served tradesman and have office / admin experience.
Day to day duties include the full project management, from taking the order from sales team to the invoicing stage. You will be liaising with suppliers / subcontractors / foremen / colleagues.
Also as a part of you duties you will be asked to take instructions from customers in appropriate manner. You will have to raise purchase orders to be forwarded to buyer and job sheets to be distributed on shop floor.
You will have to have an ability to assess material type and quantity needed, along with ability to calculate time taken to undertake jobs. You will be assisting in the design of new product and looking towards ways of increasing productivity and efficiency.
