We are looking for a Project Engineer (SCADA) to design and implement complex multi-disciplinary high technology computer based SCADA systems
The Project Engineer (SCADA) will need a Degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Control and Instrumentation or similar and will have worked previously in a role within a SCADA/Automation based engineering company.
Hands-on experience within a real time systems environment is preferred as is experience within the Power Sector and an understanding of HV/MV & LV Electrical Distribution Networks and Substation Automation across all voltage levels
An understanding of HMI functionality, command of IED & relay protection functions, IEC1131-3 Logic, IP based systems and communications media/bearers i.e. GSM, PSTN and satellite and international protocol standards will be of advantage
The Project Engineer (SCADA)’s role will involve designing and engineering real-time SCADA Systems and ensuring complete and comprehensive documentation is produced to enable the successful implementation and subsequent maintenance of the project.
Day to day duties will also include:-
• Planning and controlling all activities including the management of interdepartmental functions, sub-contract resources and potential site activities to ensure successful execution of Projects within budgeted costs and time-scales. • Providing technical support to the Sales Department during sales demonstrations and bid preparation • Liaising with the Client throughout the Contract • Negotiating with the customer any essential changes required • Maintaining the relationship between the Client and the Sales team. • Ensuring any costs and/or time variances are agreed with the customer. • Providing the necessary feedback of data to ensure the successful financial monitoring of Projects • Providing regular feedback to Project or Business Unit Manager. • Ensuring Company and sub-contractors operate within requisite regulations
All candidates should have good written, oral, presentation and negotiation skills and the ability to work well within a team.
The ability and willingness to travel both in the UK and abroad at short notice for reasonable periods of time would be required.
