Immediate vacancy for a Principal Buyer based in the Cheshire area on a permanent basis. Our client works within the process engineering industry.
Candidates should have excellent Organisation, Negotiating & Communication skills and ideally hold a UK driving license.
Buyers will execute purchasing of equipment and materials, including but not limited to:
- Understanding of the Procurement plan and associated strategies
- Preparation of Material Requisitions and enquiry documentation.
- Issue enquiries and ensure timely receipt of offers.
- Evaluation and clarification of commercial and price offers from vendors
- Ensure engineering provide suitable levelling of technical offers.
- Lead all commercial discussions and negotiations with vendors.
- Completion of necessary checks on vendors financial standing etc.
- Coordination of other discipline input to vendor review and selection.
- Arrangement and coordination of all meetings and communications with vendor.
- Ensure all sub vendors are identified and suitable or subject to Purchasers approval after order placement.
- Ensure milestones are agreed for vendors main activities eg design, sub ordering, manufacture test, pack etc.
- Vendor selection and order placement.
- Deliver order package c/w clean acknowledgment.
- Manage all post order award commercial issues.
Candidates who are Chartered Members of CIPS will be advantageous along with candidates who have experience in a related environment.
