An exciting opportunity is available for a Chief Buyer based in Barrow, Cumbria for this large defence company.
Working as a member of the IPS Customer Support & Management Team the aim of the role will be to;
Identify opportunities for Indirect Procurement consolidation & sustainable cost reductions, produce & deliver strategies
Ensure that value added procurement solutions are embedded with the Customer
Develop and enhance relationships with Key Customers & Power Spenders ensuring that their business objectives are achieved
Key responsibility areas:
Contract Management; To embrace the requirements of the IPS Quality Management System in all respects
Sourcing & Category Management; Develop & deliver sourcing policies and procurement strategies for a range of major Capital projects, ensuring early engagement in the Procurement lifecycle. Conduct supplier negotiations and deliver local framework agreements
Supplier Management; Develop & deliver a programme for the IPS local supply base
Card Scheme Management; Develop & deliver an IPS strategy including year on year growth, for the high volume low value suppliers
Integrated Supplier Information System & E-Sourcing; To act as local champion for this technology
Customer Account Management; To manage the relationship of a range of Key Customers & Power Spenders, proactively promoting the services of IPS
