Our client, a BioPharmaceutical Company based in the North West (Manchester) is seeking a Protein Purification Scientist to join them on a Permanent Basis.

Salary package - £30-35,000

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the primary recovery and downstream purification of therapeutic proteins produced in yeasts (2-10 L scale), as well as the implementation and use of appropriate analytical techniques for the characterisation of these proteins.
You will also be required to perform a range of biochemical methods to monitor the production processes of recombinant proteins and to confirm the quality of products.
You will be required to participate in process validation and scale-up activities (GMP and non-GMP).
Requirements:
Proven experience in the purification and characterisation of recombinant proteins and development and validation of associated analytical methods
Qualifications:
M.Sc. or Ph. D in Biochemistry together with at least 4 years' relevant experience. Lower qualifications will be considered if the applicant can demonstrate significant practical experience.
The successful candidate will have:
"Minimum 4 years' practical experience in the field of protein purification techniques (affinity, ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction and size exclusion chromatography) and sample analysis techniques SDS-PAGE, HPLC, ELISA and western blotting).
"Familiarity with AKTA chromatography systems and Unicorn software.
"Flexibility to work on projects across all phases of product development - including assay development, assay validation and quality control testing.
