Senior Applications Engineer x 2 - Design Background - some hydraulics experience preferable - sealing solutions - Mechanical Engineering Qualification - based Cockermouth, Cumbria - salary c£28K plus
We are looking for two Senior Applications Engineers who are educated to degree level in a Mechanical Engineering discipline (or equivalent) and who, preferably, have experience within a design background and some hydraulic experience.
You should have excellent communication and organisational skills and be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
The role of Senior Applications Engineer (Sealing Solutions/Mechanical Engineering) will consist of providing conceptual final designs, ensuring new or modified products are developed and tested within set deadlines and providing technical support and training to Application Engineers and Commercial Technicians as well as to major customers when the nature of the project requires
Reporting to the Applications Engineering Manager the main part of the job role will consist of
* Ensuring that appropriate technical support is provided and new or modified products are developed
* Ensuring that product testing is carried out in a planned and effective manner.
* Training, assisting and supporting Application Engineers and Commercial Technicians in their technical support duties.
* Providing technical support for major customers which may include site visits, U.K. and overseas
* Giving advice on seal application and fitting
* Acting as Technical Project Manager for development projects.
* Providing conceptual and final designs of sealing solutions and working to relevant procedures such as BS EN 9001:2000
* Preparing company standards and specifications for manufactured products
* Assisting in the preparation of product literature
* Giving advice on manufacture capability.
* Investigating seal failures and implementing corrective and preventative action
* Training others on product range, attributes and application.
* Producing and assisting in the production of technical material and data
* Leading cross functional teams in delivering sealing solutions to customers problems.
Candidates should have experience of customer telephone contact. Some hydraulics experience would be preferable
