Our client is an established international process contractor providing engineering, procurement, commissioning and construction skills on a global basis. They have a worldwide reputation for excellence in the execution and delivery of fully integrated projects covering a wide range of petrochemical and chemical technologies. They are currently seeking a Principal Mechanical/Machinery Engineer to work as part of a project based team and take responsibility for the following; • Supervision of resources to enable the purchase of fit for purpose mechanical equipment that fulfils contract specific requirements, design codes, standards and legislation applicable to projects, programs and are within budgets • Preparation of rotating and reciprocating machinery technical specifications • Analysis of vendor quotations for technical compliance • Design liaison with vendors and clients to ensure all details are integrated into the plant design, piping, electrical and instrumentation deliverables • Supervision of a team of mechanical engineers
Ideally, candidates will have expertise in process plant rotating equipment and safety and environmental issues with Petrochemical or Chemical experience will being a huge advantage. The successful candidate will be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in engineering and will have worked as a Senior Engineer in the past, site experience is also an advantage. Candidates that are a corporate member of a relevant institution will be preferred.
