Applications Engineer x 3 - Design Background - Mechanical Engineering Qualification - based Cumbria - salary to £20 - £24K
We are looking for three Applications Engineers who are educated to degree level in a Mechanical Engineering discipline (or equivalent) and who, preferably, have experience within a design background.
You should have excellent communication and organisational skills and be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
The role of Applications Engineer (Mechanical Engineering) will consist of providing conceptual final designs, ensuring new or modified products are developed and tested within set deadlines and providing technical support to internal Commercial Technicians, Sales Teams and major customers.
Reporting to the Applications Engineering Manager the main part of the job role will consist of
* Ensuring that appropriate technical support is provided and new or modified products are developed
* Ensuring that product testing is carried out in a planned and effective manner.
* Training, assisting and supporting Commercial Technicians in their technical support duties.
* Providing technical support for major customers, Commercial Technicians, internal sales and customers on more complex enquiries. This may include site visits, U.K. and overseas.
* Giving advice on seal application and fitting.
* Providing conceptual and final designs of sealing solutions
* Preparing company standards and specifications for manufactured products.
* Assisting in the preparation of product literature.
* Investigating seal failures, providing reports and recommending/implementing corrective and preventative action.
