Position: Electrical Engineer
Qualifications:
Under close and frequent supervision, candidate assists Engineers by performing the routine aspects of electrical engineering assignments, subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company. Performs electrical design calculations (i.e., 480/4160 VAC SLD, Motor Elementary, Conduit Schedules, Power Studies, etc.), controls and instrumentation design (i.e., PLC & DCS I/O card diagrams, Logic And SAMA diagrams, Instrument Specifications, etc.) sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment.
Coordinates project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group. Reviews drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and recommends necessary changes. Researches design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers. Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers. May attend “kick-off” and design review meetings, and interacts with clients as his or her level of experience progresses.
The successful candidates will have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years of manufacturing facility and/or consulting engineering experience. Pulp and paper industry experience is a plus.
Candidates must be able read P&ID’s and identify items (equipment, valves, instruments, piping, etc.) in the field. Qualified candidates will be proficient in using AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
