Our client in Burnley is seeking Composites Engineers at both Assembly and Team Leader level. This is a great opportunity to use existing composites engineering skills and experience in a vibrant, growing industry.
Knowledge and experience in manufacturing using composites is essential.
The roles will involve: Investigating potential manufacturing processes for new components / assemblies and for modifications to existing components / assemblies. Define and optimise the manufacturing process for each component / assembly, based on the correct balance of cost, quality, lead time, manufacturability, safety and performance. Produce item masters, routes, production bills of materials, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, COS’s and PD drawings for components / assemblies. Produce NC / CMM programmes for the in-house manufacturing of components / assemblies. Produce cost estimates / standard times for the manufacturing of components / assemblies. Develop and implement the product inspection elements of Quality Plans. Prove the capability of the manufacturing process for each component / assembly using the DVI process and to maintain the DVI file for any subsequent changes. Support the selection of plant and equipment and the preparation of factory layouts. Provide structured problem solving (8D) support to manufacturing areas and to resolve any identified manufacturing process issues. Support the dispositioning of manufacturing non conformances and the definition of any associated repair solutions. Complete manufacturing process related Corrective Actions resulting from manufacturing non conformances. Work rigorously to the group procedures.
