Our client is a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Consultancy who provide engineering services, asset management and design services for the built environment. The company operates across remit of engineering and property management, from the intial pre-purchase or the design stage right through to maintenance and refurbishment of those properties.
They have a team of highly experienced Engineers who are knowledgeable in all relevant areas in order to provide clients with a cost effective solution.
Their client base ranges from property professionals such as building surveyors, architects, management surveyors, construction consultants, building owners, and building managers, in both the private and public sectors.
They have more than thirty years of experience within the engineering services industry which has given them a thorough understanding of the requirements of building owners and operators. They also fully understand the requirements of the occupants and the key objectives of my client are to provide good environmental comfort conditions in energy efficient premises.
Their involvement is often required before a client has purchased the building or taken the lease on part of it, as they are regularly requested to undertake pre-acquisition surveys of plant and services. If there is any need for refurbishment or fit-out then they can provide a bespoke design and management service for the works. Thereafter, once the client has taken possession of their premises, they can set up and manage maintenance strategies to achieve the anticipated life and performance from the M&E systems within the building. Within the next 3 years my clients want to increase their Engineering manpower by 50% in line with their increased portfolio of work. They are seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Engineer to assist in this development plan.
Duties
1. Prepare and manage engineering projects to include: specification, design, life cycle cost, equipment selection, planned maintenance programmes, dilapidations, acquisition and the preparation of & review of tender documentation.
2. Conduct surveys to gather field data e.g. asset collection.
3. Prepare and interpret engineering reports, drawings, layouts and other (visual) aids.
4. Perform Building Services Engineering duties surrounding the following; electrical systems, mechanical systems, and public health systems.
5. Work within the companies Health and Safety Policy and Environmental Policy.
6. Manage project issues, budgets, invoicing and schedules.
7. Have sound (good) working knowledge of European Economic Area Building Services Engineering standards, policies, and legislation.
8. Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
9. Meet, interact and work with clients, the general public, tradesmen and fellow professionals.
SKILL
1. Knowledge of applicable laws and building codes, safety legislation and approved code of practice e.g. L8.
2. Qualification to at least (NVQ3) in building services engineering e.g. Mechanical Engineering and three years experience (following qualification) or recognised Engineering Degree.
