Role     
           
This role offers an exciting opportunity to take on a technical, lead discipline and business development role for the Environment Planning Transport team in Manchester.
 
Working together with other senior managers the successful candidate will be instrumental in developing the environmental business in the North West, delivering a range of mainly EIA /SEA and sustainability projects and developing new and existing clients.  The ideal candidate will be a commercially oriented individual with an excellent technical ability in EIA and a proven track record in managing significant EIA projects.
 
The right person will also be able to take on a management responsibilities and would be expected to contribute to the development and leadership of the environment team in Manchester.
 
The specific duties of the role are expected to include:
 

- Leading delivery of mainly EIA and SEA projects to major clients including residential and retail developers, utility companies and national and regional development agencies.
- Liaison with statutory and non-statutory consultees to agree assessment methodologies.
- Carrying out of technical assessments and report/chapter writing as appropriate.
- Management of workload and project budgets.
- Liaison with clients.
- Business development.
- Team building, including team recruitment, mentoring and development. Key Competencies
 
Skills:
As well as EIA experience, the candidate should have a particular environmental specialism.  Experience of team leadership and mentoring and client/ business development are key to this role
 
Qualifications:
With a good degree and MSc in Environmental Management (or equivalent) the ideal candidate will be a member of a relevant professional institute (such as IEMA).

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have the required amount of environmental consultancy experience to fill a role at this level, with particular reference to EIA for development projects. Experience of business development and management required as well as development and leadership of projects.
