Geo Technical Engineer - Altrincham
Our Client is an international multi-disciplinary consultancy and we are looking for an ambitious chartered or experienced senior geotechnical engineer to pro-actively support our growing Landfill business in South Manchester .Job descriptionThe successful applicant would be expected to bring a breadth of civil engineering based experience such that they would be competently be able to work independently as far as possible, with the confidence of there being a large geotechnical community behind them to support them as necessary.
The candidate would be expected to both undertake & deliver geotechnical commissions with focus in the area of Landfill. The role will involve managing the relationship with the current client. There is also potential for suitable candidates to take significant responsibility within the teams, leading to a role as Design Manager.
We are seeking an ambitious chartered geotechnical engineer for mainly Landfill related projects.
If successful, the candidate would be expected to:
- Undertake desk studies and ground investigations
- Complete geotechnical designs
- Design foundations and substructures
- Design slope stability
- Design earthworks assessments
- Design reinforced earth design
- Cost control Report production and project management will be required, as will liaison with the external client. The successful candidates will be presented with varied and exciting career opportunities within a dynamic team.Candidate specification
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology
- Chartered Engineer or approaching Chartership
- Significant demonstrable experience in Geotechnical design
- Team leading experience
- Client liaison experience
- Project management experience
- Masters in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology would be desirable
- Landfill design experience is also desirable
- Cost control experience is desirable
