Base Salary: £43,000 - £53,000 (dependent on experience) + Bonus & Benefits

Centrica Energy manages risk in the energy markets to reduce the impact of unpredictable energy prices on our customers, which include British Gas. These risks are managed by balancing energy production from our own assets with long-term contracts and short term trading.
Within Centrica Energy, Hydrocarbon Resources Limited (HRL) owns and operates the Morecambe Gas Fields, as well as operating and supporting third party fields within the East Irish Sea. Our offshore Production Facilities, Onshore Processing Terminals and Support Base provide a complex and challenging operating environment.
Reporting to the HS&E Manager the job holder will act as the technical authority for all environmental issues across HRL; and will set the standards for environmental performance and take management accountability to ensure compliance through the operational line management. The job holder will be required to maintain constructive and effective relationships with regulatory authorities and other similar stakeholders having interest in the environmental integrity and the environmental performance of HRL.
A significant aspect of the job will to maintain the register of aspects and impacts of the offshore platforms and onshore terminals and ensure accurate records and reports are issued to demonstrate compliance with permit conditions and EU ETS allocation parameters.
With a strong functional link to the Principal Environmental Advisor for Centrica Energy UP&D, the job holder will have the opportunity to support environmental initiatives across the broader international upstream business.
In order to deliver successfully in this role the job holder must be capable of influencing a large variety of stakeholders and will need to persuade, negotiate and build relationships with operational personnel across the HRL business.

Excellent communicator with the confidence to search out your own network of contacts both internal and external and share knowledge across the business. A broad range of offshore and onshore experience of operational compliance to environmental legislation in the upstream hydrocarbon production business, or in a similar PPC regulated major hazard operation. Educated to degree level, with an appropriate environmental qualification at first degree or master level and hold membership, or be progressing to membership, of an appropriate professional organisation such as IEMA.
Special conditions:
There is a requirement to travel to our offshore platforms.
