We are currently recruiting for an excellent opportunity with one of our clients based out of their offices in Chester. They are looking for an Environmental Scientist who would work with a team of 11 other scientists however you would also be part of providing support for other UK offices.
Your responsibilities would include:
To provide support to the preparation of EIA and SEA of infrastructure projects primarily in the water and energy sectors
Baseline environmental data collection Consultation with Statutory and key consultees Production of consultation documents and management of responses Input to the production of EIA Screening and Scoping documents Input to the environmental appraisal of projects and strategies An interest in / knowledge of field ecology is desirable but not essential Assistance on field ecological surveysWriting ecological reports / memos
Essential Academic Requirements: BSc in environmentally-related discipline or related area Commitment to continuous professional development and attainment of membership of a relevant chartered institution
Desirable:
Work experience in an environment related field and working / academic knowledge of environmental impact assessment techniques
Knowledge: Theoretical understanding of environmental impact assessment and its application to the permitting of major projects Theoretical understanding of strategic environmental assessment and its application to strategy development Basic understanding of Town and Country Planning Experience or knowledge of field ecology and protected species surveys
