Our client currently have a vacancy for an Environmental Engineer in their Natural &Built Environment Team based in Cheshire or Buckinghamshire. This will include, but not be limited to, execution of waste management projects, support to business development, preparation of estimates and proposals. Projects could include, feasibility studies, design and engineering for municipal , hazardous or commercial waste treatment processes e.g stabilisation, composting, anaerobic digestion, MBT, energy from waste, transfer stations.
You will need to demonstrate a strong technical background and useful experience, and reasonable understanding of UK regulation in this area. You will be keen to win and execute high quality work and will be prepared to work alone or in larger teams, and in cooperation with internal waste experts in Belgium and elsewhere. You will also be required to supervise and mentor less experienced staff and be responsible for the technical quality of elements of the projects which you are involved with.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate well in written and verbal media. To be successful in this role, you must have experience in design of process plant and for Environmental / Senior Environmental Engineer. You will also need experience in design of waste treatment and disposal facilities as well as understanding of permitting and licensing of waste handling and treatment plants.
In addition to the requirements above you will also need a degree (or equivalent) in subject of relevance; Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering. Postgraduate degree in relevant subject plus Chartered Status or equivalent professional qualification is preferred, however not essential.
Ideally you will also CIWM, CIWEM member with a good working knowledge of health & safety regulations in the UK.
