Senior Electrical design engineer
Significant experience in the Electrical Supply Industry
Knowledge of regulatory framework, including embedded generation, "private wires" and contestable/non-contestable works
Experience in planning and design of electrical distribution infrastructure up to 132kV
Knowledge and/or experience of multi utility delivery strategies
Knowledge and/or experience Energy Supply Companies (ESCo's)
Able to work on own initiative
Good communication skills, both written and oral
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Job Leader and (in some circumstances) Project Leader
Operate and competently work on an independent basis
Manage single or multi-disciplinary projects
Communicate directly with Clients
Prepare technical and financial proposals for new work
Plan and monitor job resourcing/expenditure and adjust as necessary
Manage workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians.
Prepare and take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detail design
Prepare Technical Specifications
Check/verify other team members work
Monitor financial performance of jobs
Set up and manage job/project administrative systems.
Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc.
