The Building and Infrastructure unit has been consistently winning significant national and international projects. We are therefore expanding and developing the Altrincham Bridge Engineering team to support our capability to deliver high quality, cost effective and tailored engineering solutions to our public and private sector clients. The successful applicant will be working within an established team of 17 bridge engineers, working on a variety of projects including Holton Borough Framework, Network Rail works, Nottingham Tram, Strengthening of M53.
Job description
As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will be involved on a range of small to large projects which are industry and public high profile. The roles will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development.
Attributes of this role will entail:
- Responsible for all aspects of assigned project work, including managing projects.
- Lead design teams throughout all phases of project, from bidding to completion
- Working on a range of both road and rail bridge commissions, ranging from inspection and design assessment work to feasibility studies
- Engineering refurbishment and replacement schemes
- Engineering design on new build projects.
Candidate specification
Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:
- Has relevant design experience and have a personal interest in Bridge Engineering which will be utilised in a broad range of engineering projects.
- Chartered engineer, with CEng, MICE or similar status.
- Ability to demonstrate technical excellence in bridge design engineering.
- Ability to write reports clearly, succinctly and correctly.
- Ability to communicate in English fluently.
- Experience of working in UK bridge design engineering and involvement in the full project lifecycle, including budget/finance control.
- Proven team leading experience.
- Ability to lead and mentor graduates.
Desirable qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:
- Strong IT skills ideally with AutoCAD experience.
- Competency with both HA (Highways Agency) & NR (Network Rail) design standards.
- Ability to deliver projects within set deadlines and work autonomously when required.
