We have an immediate requirement for a Design Manager for a long term, ongoing contract role based in the Lancashire area working within the nuclear industry.
Our client is one of the leading specialists in the provision of integrated engineering systems and plants providing engineering services including; User requirement specifications, Conceptual Design/General Arrangements and Design Detail for manufacture.
Reporting to the Nuclear Operations Manager/Project Manager, Project Engineers will assist upon all aspects of site installation and commissioning, planning, scheduling work and materials in order to ensure that nominated projects are a commercial and technical success. Successful candidates will also work on other projects within the nuclear group, as directed by the Project Manager, in line with project requirements.
Other responsibilities will include, providing a cost estimating service to the Nuclear Business Development Manager and Operations Manager and be of assistance in the preparation of claims. You will also be involved in the monitoring of budgets including budget re-allocation to reflect in house/sub contract.
Participation in design review meetings and attendance in projects meetings is required as is taking the minutes in both of these, along with collating and preparing information for project status reports.
Ideally, candidates will be graduate engineers with some experience in manufacturing engineering.
