We currently have an immediate permanent vacancy for a Principal (Mechanical/Machinery) Engineer for a client based in the Cheshire area working within the process industry.
Working as part of a project based team, the successful candidate's key responsibilities will include:
• Supervision of resources to enable the purchase of fit for purpose mechanical equipment that fulfils contract specific requirements, design codes, standards and legislation applicable to projects, programs and are within budgets
• Preparation of rotating and reciprocating machinery technical specifications
• Analysis of vendor quotations for technical compliance
• Design liaison with vendors and clients to ensure all details are integrated into the plant design, piping, electrical and instrumentation deliverables
• Supervision of a team of mechanical engineers
Candidates will ideally hold a degree qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering subject and be a corporate member of a relevant institution.
Candidates with site experience and experience working at a senior level will be advantageous.
A broad experience in process plant rotating equipment and safety & environmental issues is a distinct advantage.
