Inspection Engineer required on a permanent basis for a Cheshire based clients working within the process engineering industry. The Inspectors activates shall include the following:
- Pre award evaluation of vendor quotes, including vendor quality systems and experience. - Establish level of inspection from Order/ code requirements and discussions with Requisitioning Engineer. - Arrange and chair pre-inspection kick off meetings. - Ensure the Vendor has a clear understanding of all required specifications, codes and standards, and is familiar with specific inspection requirements. - Ensure Vendor has submitted to and received an Approval of welding procedure and other required QA/QC procedures from the Contractor prior to commencement of fabrication. - Ensure the Vendor is fully aware of fabrication and/or assembly that will be subject to inspection by the Contractor’s Inspector, the Owners Inspector and Third Party’s Inspector. - The Vendor is responsible for conducting tests, honouring hold points, and providing support to the Contractor’s Inspector Owners Inspector and/or Third Party’s Inspector. - Approval of vendor’s quality assurance/quality control plan procedure clearly indicating stages of inspection with specific reference to witness and hold points. - Assign and coordinate field inspectors supplied by the selected service provider who have the necessary experience and capability to ensure vendor quality control: - Ensure issue of IRC along with final review of manufacturing documentation data books. - Provide solution reporting of problem issues. - Enquiry, evaluation and selection of Field Inspection Service Provider (as applicable). - Ensure suitability of field inspectors. - Control of costs associated with field inspectors.
Ideally, candidates will hold a minimum of HNC/NVQ4 in Mechanical Engineering or related subject (or equivalent) and have experience in a related environment including field inspection.
