Our Public Sector client is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager within their Estates Dept. on a long term contract.
Role Description:
Provide safe and efficient day to day operational management of the Trusts Engineering systems, ensuring the service delivery at all times meets statutory requirements and is responsive to the client¡¦s requirements.
Taking lead responsibility for operation and management of the Engineering systems associated with the Trust¡¦s premises.
Acting as ¡¥Authorised Person¡¦ for Engineering systems and maintaining strict records of engineering systems to meet operational and statutory requirements.
Develop and maintain policy, procedures and safe systems of work for Estates related works in accordance with statutory requirements, NHS Technical Memoranda and the Trust¡¦s health policy.
Develop and maintain emergency / contingency plans to maintain critical systems and minimise disruption to the normal operation of the hospital during power failure or other emergency situation.
With the Maintenance Manager, manage the responsive breakdown and planned preventative maintenance service, ensuring continual development and updating of the system to maintain cost effective procedures for all the Trusts assets and buildings.
Management of external contractors and direct labour staff carrying out maintenance work on the Trusts assets and buildings.
Monitor and report on Estates performance including use of Key performance indicators
Evaluation of training needs for staff, sourcing suitable training programmes and arranging delivery to meet statutory needs and Trust policy. Maintaining and monitoring of training records for Estates staff.
Management of Energy and Utilities promoting energy conservation
Promoting and developing the culture of responsiveness, ownership and customer care amongst Estates staff.
Working with other Estates managers to ensure that Estates delegated budgets are not exceeded and opportunities are fully explored to reduce Estates costs.
Undertaking of feasibility studies including costing of work and surveys as required for option appraisals etc.
Applicants will be required to have relevant engineering management experience, preferably but not essentially within estates dept. |
