Job Description Our Lighting team is a specialist group of dedicated, experienced and qualified professionals, providing both lighting design and electrical engineering consultancy services.This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding lighting team, based at our Warrington office. You will provide support in delivering a range of lighting project designs, giving you the opportunity to develop and potentially become a professionally qualified engineer.
Requirements Essential Ideally you will possess a NC / HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) or be studying towards this. Alternatively you will have experience of working in the lighting industry Minimum 4 GCSE's (or equivalent) grade C or above Good level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite Ability to work as part of a team and with minimum supervision Ability to develop, learn new skills and understand technical requirements Good communication skills, both oral and written Desirable Have a basic understanding of lighting and electrical theory, concepts and general principles A working knowledge of lighting design software i.e. Calculux, Lighting Reality, Turbolight, KeyLIGHTS An awareness of British Standards relating to UK street lighting Conversant in AutoCAD Experience of producing reports and liaising with clients
Responsibilities
- Assist with the production of detailed designs of highway and other lighting schemes
Assist in site surveys and the preparation of lighting impact assessment reports, conceptual designs and feasibility studies Assist in the preparation of estimates, specifications and contract documents Provide assistance with the detailed electrical designs and exterior lighting installation cable supply networks and controls in accordance with the relevant legislative standards Liaison with electricity suppliers, contractors and clients Ensure continuous awareness of client requirements and potential changes to projects and advise the senior engineer in regards to change control Ensure awareness of developments in the lighting industry and utilise new technology where appropriate
