Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to work in the Manchester area.

Purpose of the Role

To undertake the design of electrical systems for buildings. To lead a team of mechanical and electrical engineers to produce coordinated designs to program and within budget. To work within an integrated team of other mechanical and electrical engineers. To assist in providing good quality designs and an excellent standard of service to our clients.

Duties
Outline design and specification
Undertaking the design of lighting, emergency lighting, cable sizing, mains LV distribution and infrastructure, fire alarms, security systems, CCTV and entry systems
Carrying out feasibility studies
Carrying out site surveys and reports
Dealing with contractor queries
Working within QA systems
Preparation of specifications
Producing detailed design layouts
Preparation of schematic layouts
Attending site meetings to monitor and review the progress of works
Representing the company at regular client meetings
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with both colleagues and clients
Design, supervision and technical reviewing of allocated projects
Technical quality reviews of project information
Developing conceptual and detailed designs solutions in line with the client's brief
Presenting designs to clients
Keeping up to date with emerging technologies
Attending and organising appropriate CPD seminars
Project planning and monitoring
Budget costing
Identifying and managing resources to achieve project requirements
Financial management and reporting on project profitability
Assisting in the preparation of fee submissions and project bids
Skills/Experience:

Essential
A proven track record in the Building Services industry
From a consultancy background
Competent in every aspect of the design process
Ability to use Amtech electrical design software
Excellent spreadsheet skills

Desired
Experience on a previous project seen from conception through to completion
Qualifications

Essential
An appropriate qualification in building services or electrical design
Chartered engineer or working towards being chartered

Desired
Ideally educated to at least HNC/Degree level in a relevant subject such as building services
Personal Qualities:
The ability to work to with specific agreed timescales to strict deadlines
The ability to exercise initiative and prioritise duties accordingly
Outstanding interpersonal communication and team working skills
