My client is a global consultancy that is involved in transportation, property, environment and natural resources market sectors. The projects that this consultancy work on are wide ranging and have included a container terminal, metro lines, numerous Highways Agency works, waste water treatment works, and many more. The geotechnical specialists are involved in working with other sections of the consultancy as well as on independent geotechnical commissions for many outside bodies such as government departments, local authorities, other consulting engineers, and private individuals. Projects that the geotechnical team get involved in cover new towns, highways, prestigious structures, airports and bridges. The role: This job will involve working on challenging and interesting projects. You will be highly credible with the consultancies clients, translating their needs into practical requirements. The role will involve specific project responsibilities including monitoring the accuracy of project plans, escalating problems, identifying risks and managing requirement changes. The ideal candidate: - BSc in Applied Geology or related discipline and ideally a further qualification such as MSc Rock Mechanics, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or similar - Significant experience of geotechnical engineering and be a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Geologist or equivalent - Knowledge and use of specialist computing programmes, wide knowledge of current design standards, specialist processes and state of the art investigation techniques - You should hold PTS and a Driving licence
