Estimating Role - Newcastle Based - Up To £45,000 + Package.
Company Overview
My client is predominantly a main contractor (though they have carried out some projects on a sub-contractor basis), based in new purpose built offices in Washington they are looking to recruit an Estimator.
Current turn over is approx £21m with a target of pushing that up to £30m within the next few years. Being a family ran company they have a well established supply chain in place as well as excellent working relationships with clients - including Universities, MOD, local authorities and some national housebuilders.
Current projects range from between £1m - £5m and are based throughout the UK with the vast majority being in the NE.
Candidate Overview
It is essential that the Successful candidate has a sound knowledge of the civil engineering aspect of construction, including: roads, remediation, sports and play pitches would also be viewed as an advantage. Qualifications should be to HNC / HND Degree standard, and ideally you will have worked for a major contractor and regional contractor too.
The role will involve:
- Preparation of estimates up to £5m in value.
- Develop the estimating support staff.
- Preparation of tender programmes and to act as a pivitol member of the 'winning work' team.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Identifying commercial opportunities and limit risks in all bids.
