COUNTRY MANAGER/OFFICE DIRECTOR-SINGAPORE-INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION CONSULTANCY
Arguably one of the world's most prestigious cost consultancies is looking to appoint a Country Manager/ Office Director. They have been providing Construction and Management Consultancy advice for over 60 years, initially focused on the UK. In the 1980s, they formalised their overseas operations, as a direct response to increasing demand from global corporations for a geographically wider approach to construction consultancy. At the end of the last financial year, the business employed in excess of 2,400 staff operating out of 56 offices worldwide.
The business is divided into 7 operating Regions: America, UK, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and Australia.
THE ROLE
To act as the Office Director/ Country Manager, you will be responsible for profit and loss in Singapore, as well as developing the business within the local market. •Be responsible for the operational and financial management of the Singapore business (approx. S$2.50m turnover) •Be responsible for leading the Singapore office's 20+ staff members •Be responsible for developing relationships with existing and new Clients in the location to continue the growth of Asian business •Actively develop Singapore's operating capability, in terms of product development, knowledge management and governance to align with this consultancy's aspirations for global excellence •Actively contribute to the achievement of the company's Global business plan
You will report directly to Country Managing Director, who is based in Kuala Lumpur. The candidate will also liaise with the Asia Managing Director. The position will also include the responsibility of a seat on the organisation's Asia Pacific Board.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will have strong business, marketing and communication skills; ideally having managed an office or cost centre previously. It is envisaged that you will have extensive domain experience, preferably from a Project Management background.
You will also ideally have worked in Asia for a number of years, but also have experience of working with Global Clients during that time. Chartership and a construction/ business based degree would be advantageous.
Previous experience within a cost consultancy/ multi disciplinary consultancy is important. Someone who has been key to setting up a business within one of the top international cost consultancies is almost guaranteed to be suitable. My client will consider Associates from cost consultancies who are looking for the next platform in their career. Please do not be put off applying if you only have 8 years experience within the industry as this is a very young organisation.
THE LOCATION
The position will be based in Singapore. However, the organisation currently have 5 offices in Asia (Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin) and it is anticipated that travel to a number of these locations, as well as surrounding countries, will be required.
