Reports to: Division Director, Projects Delivery
Job Purpose: • Assure that all projects are completed according to set schedule and budget while maintaining quality, health and safety and sustainability standards
Key Responsibilities: • Assure that all projects of the development are scheduled in logical steps and are completed according to the specified schedule and budget • Ensure that all contracts required to complete the projects are in place and that all contractors are monitored and perform their scope of work based on the contractual agreements and the agreed upon quality standards • Supervise design reviews for all ongoing projects to ensure designs are realistic to implement and aligned with applicable regulations • Facilitate and lead technical meetings to provide recommendations on project designs based on design reviews conducted • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, set sustainability requirements and other relevant regulations • Assure that plans and contract terms are interpreted and understood correctly by the project managers • Monitor project managers to assure variations to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors are negotiated appropriately • Coordinate with the Project Controls & Planning Department to ensure that all necessary permits and licenses for the development’s projects are obtained • Assure that contractors selected to complete specific phases/modules of projects are adequate and that work is coordinated and planned efficiently • Oversee the preparation of budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports for all projects • Monitor design consultants on a day-to-day basis to ensure that all ongoing design activities are aligned with the city’s master plans and with project schedules and cost estimates
Job Requirements: Education –Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Experience –10+ years working experience in project management –Experience in leading the development of project control systems –Project Management certification recognized by leading Project Management organizations (e.g., Project Management Professional certification issued by the Project Management Institute) desired
