The successful candidate will have a college education with a background in the Electrical Industry and/or ten years experience related to Electrical Construction with five (5) of those years working as an Electrical Estimator in industrial construction. Thorough knowledge of Pulp & Paper and Power Plant construction is a plus. A thorough knowledge of instrumentation and the ability to prepare estimates from P&ID drawings as well as conceptual estimates from an instrument list. Familiar with all types of electrical specifications and codes. Good communication skills and be well versed in all aspects of Electrical Construction. Knowledge and experience with computers & spreadsheet programs. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
Assure that a detailed quantity survey is performed for all items that should be included in the electrical scope of work. Make detailed equipment take-offs and write up the assembly and installation of equipment including all labor, tool and equipment required for the completed installation. Prepare take-offs from plans and specs information as well as conceptual flow sheets and block lay out drawings. Be thoroughly familiar with all types of electrical specifications and codes. Price materials through solicitation and by means of computerized program. Also applying labor units, extending and totaling is required. Have knowledge of instrumentation and ability to prepare estimates from P&ID drawings as well as conceptual estimates from instrument list. Prepare estimates for Cathodic Protection, Fire Detection, GSU (assembly and conditioning) and ISO phase bus duct by actual take-off, conceptual or through solicitation of subcontractors. Assure that accurate unit and lump sum prices are used for all items included in the electrical cost estimate. Solicit material, subcontractor and other pricing by telephone, letters, facsimiles and e-mail. Ensure proper scope and analyze legitimacy and completeness of pricing. |
