Reports to:Department Manager, Project Controls and Planning
Job Purpose: • Ensuring that construction progress and construction plans realistically capture all relevant project information and are monitored and communicated to internal stakeholders to enable timely delivery of all development projects
Key Responsibilities: • Liaise with contractors and with the Project Departments to obtain and validate project schedules, project costs and relevant milestones • Lead the design of scheduling standards and processes required for capturing and documenting relevant project information (including schedule, budget and manpower utilization) and for ensuring the timely delivery of all ongoing development projects • Oversee and lead all project planning activities, including schedule development, schedule maintenance and implementation monitoring while ensuring the integration of individual project plans into the project master plan • Collaborate with the Quantity Surveying Manager to ensure that budget estimates produced are aligned with the project plans developed • Coordinate between internal projects delivery departments (energy management, design, construction management and infrastructure) and projects department to identify project critical path, schedule variances and potential delivery risks and recommend actions to mitigate variances and risks • Closely monitor project implementation budget and milestones to ensure adherence to original budget; identify variations in project budgets and timelines with contractors and consultants • Prepare comprehensive (including labor productivity, project status and earned value reports) periodic (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly) cost and schedule progress reports, conduct analysis on variations and communicate variations to the manager of the Project Controls and Planning Department • Coordinate with the Projects Department to monitor scope changes, identify cost and/or schedule impacts of proposed changes and incorporate those impacts into project plans • Perform and/or coordinate ad-hoc special (planning/scheduling) studies as required
Job Requirements: Education –Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering or construction planning or equivalent
Experience –7+ years construction project management and/or planning experience –Previous experience in the management and planning of large construction or urban development projects
Competencies –Excellent understanding of site-based aspects of construction projects –Experience of managing large scale building projects –Ability to manage a team of multinational planners –Strong organizational and time management abilities –Able to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines –Excellent problem solving and decision making skills –Excellent PC skills and recent working knowledge of project management packages
