Job Description
Atkins is one of the largest providers of energy consultancy and engineering support services in the UK. Our Nuclear Generation business is helping major clients to maintain output and extend the life of their assets. Our work includes the design and specification of modifications required to meet safety requirements or operational improvements. Applications are invited from Mechanical or Structural Engineers with relevant experience gained either in the UK or overseas. Roles will be based in our Global Design Centre in Bangalore but candidates will be required to spend an initial training period of 6 months within one of our nuclear offices based in the UK.

Role and Responsibilities
You will be required too support long-term technical projects for assessing the seismic withstand capability of the fleet of UK Advanced Gas Cooled Reactor cores. Work will include construction and application of complex 3-dimensional computer models of the cores, designing data processing tools, and assessing the safety functions of the cores under varying levels of seismic events and different ageing factors.

Requirements

Degree in either Mechanical of Structural Engineering
Previous experience within the nuclear industry either gained in the UK or overseas
A good level of experience with Visual Basic or LS-DYNA
Proven capability of winning and delivering engineering projects
A good track record in client management and business development
