We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer with experience overseas in a senior operational position, ideally with overall site maintenance responsibility.
Experience in the maintenance of mining equipment, including hydraulic excavators, off highway haulage trucks, drill rigs etc will be required as will exposure to material handling and/or chemical processing plant maintenance and experience of maintaining utilities and infrastructure
The Maintenance Manager (Mechanical Engineer) should have excellent team building skills and the ability to communicate cross-culturally combined with leadership qualities.
This role will be is suited to someone who can think 'out of the box' to bring innovative solutions to challenging problems
The role of Maintenance Manager will require the qualified Mechanical Engineer to work at a new hard rock open pit base metal mine and mineral processing plant located in the Middle East which is scheduled to begin production in the last quarter of 2009 following the commencement of pre-stripping in mid 2008. The role will be based at site in Yemen.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Manager (Mechanical Engineer)'s day to day duties will include:-
* The development and implementation of preventative maintenance programmes for all site based capital equipment and facilities
* Provision of break-down maintenance services
* Recruitment and training of maintenance personnel
* Effective cost control of all site maintenance operations.
* Introduction and adherence to rigorous health and safety standards
* Close involvement in procurement, installation and commissioning of capital equipment.
The role will be worked on a 9 week on /3 weeks off rotation and accommodation and flights provided
