Reports to: Manager, Design Coordination
Job Purpose: • Ensuring that all mechanical and electrical designs for the city are in line with the development’s value proposition, aligned with applicable building codes and sustainability standards
Key Responsibilities: • Conduct detailed mechanical and electrical design reviews of all types of properties and structures in the city to ensure that properties meet the sustainability vision of the company while adhering to local regulations, applicable standards as well as the city’s value proposition • Coordinate with structural/civil and architecture design to carry out MEP design modifications for interfaces of building structures as deemed necessary to meet the city’s sustainability vision • Manage all MEP consultants on a day-to-day basis to ensure that designs and technical drawings will be carried out appropriately and aligned with the approved designs • Conduct detailed engineering drawing reviews and follow up with construction contractor’s progress to monitor that construction progress is aligned with technical drawings • Collaborate with project managers in identifying and flagging technical MEP issues • Support the Building Design Manager in solving project implementation technical issues by attending coordination meetings, proposing and validating viable technical workarounds to the Building Design Manager and following up with the implementation of workarounds • Understand and implement document control procedures for design calculations, technical drawing, cross-functional and external technical coordination meetings and agreements reached • Take responsibility for and manage the various stages of the design process expediently, economically and efficiently
Job Requirements: Education –Master from reputable institution in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with specialization in fluid mechanics or thermodynamics
Experience –7+ years of experience in the design supervision of large scale mixed-use developments –Simulation of large scale district cooling projects preferred –Demonstrated track record of district cooling design & project management –Expert knowledge of district cooling design/simulation techniques and tools
Skills: –Strong numerical simulation skills –Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards –Strong practical knowledge of facility mechanical, electrical and architectural systems and components, with special emphasis on solar/thermal cooling/dehumidification technologies –Strong project management skills –Excellent communication skills (written and oral) –Strong project management skills –Able to work extended hours to fulfill the role
