Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will report to the S.M.T. Manager and will be required to interface with all other Senior Site Engineers. Key responsibilities include:
• Technical and quality control of all Mechanical works as well as coordination with all other discipline specialists. • Providing assistance in resolving design issues wherever possible and to coordinate with head office support. • Planning and managing the job responsibilities of the QA/QC Teams. • Overseeing and coordinating the review of the Contractor’s technical submissions, shop drawings and materials. • Providing technical advice on design changes. • Final reviews of all Contractor’s relevant drawings, schedules, or material submittals to ensure compliance with the overall objectives of the design. • Be the point of contact between the Mechanical QA/QC personnel and the Project Manager • Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that company policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc. • Commitment to CPD and self learning / development. Qualifications:
• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer. • In special circumstances, minimum of ten years relevant professional working experience with either a Bachelors degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters degree in Engineering (MEng) and working towards chartership.
Job Purpose:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a key member of the Consultant Site Management Team located on-site in Khiran, Southern Kuwait, and will report to the S.M.T. Manager. The position undertakes three primary roles: 1. Manage QA/QC team of site Inspectors relevant to your appointed discipline to ensure the quality of the work is in conformance with the contract. 2. Review and approve Contractor’s shop drawings and method statements. 3. Coordinate between our Client’s UK design office and the Site Construction Management Team (Contractor).
