Key Responsibilities: • Act as Senior Mechanical Engineer on the Project site. • Manage and control the site Junior Engineers and Inspectors. • Review Technical Specifications for compliance with Contract Documents. • Responsible for all Mechanical work including, Plumbing, Drainage, HVAC (Chillers, Chilled Water Distribution, Central Air Systems, Split Systems, Package Units) BMS, External Water Supply, Sewage/Blood Treatment Plants, Central Kitchens, Laundries, Water Treatment, etc. • Inspect and report on the existing Mechanical installation. Prepare work scope for remedial work and design additional systems as determined from inspections. • Review Technical and Financial proposals from Contractors. • Review technical material submittals for compliance with the Contract Documents. • Review the drawing submittals (both shop drawings and vendor drawings) for compliance with Contract Documents. • Review the Mechanical Calculations for compliance with the Contract Documents. • Implement, manage and control the Project Mechanical Quality Assurance plan. • Plan, monitor and control the inspection of all Mechanical equipment at the manufacturing plants and the installation of the Mechanical equipment and systems at the site by the Contractors. • Coordinate the Mechanical work with Architectural, Electrical and Specialist disciplines. • Attend weekly Project review meetings and report on the Mechanical work. • Review, monitor and report on the Project construction schedule. • Review, design and implement Client change orders. • Review As-built drawings for the Mechanical work. • Review, Operation and Maintenance Manuals for the Mechanical work. • Witness Testing, Adjusting, Balancing and Commissioning of the Mechanical systems. • Review, Project acceptance procedures and participate in Contract close out. • Ensure senior staffs are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved. • Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that company policy is in keeping with current legislation, Standards and Codes of Practice etc. • Commitment to CPD and self learning / development Qualifications: • Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer Or • In special circumstances, six years relevant working experience with either a Bachelors degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters degree in Engineering (MEng) and working towards chartership. • 10 years relevant experience
Job Purpose: • Site based Senior Mechanical Engineer on a Palace Complex Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Project involves the complete Inspection, Testing and Commissioning and necessary refurbishment of the as installed Mechanical Systems. • Responsible for ensuring that the quality expectations, budget and programme constraints of the client are respected by the contractor. • Responsible for managing junior mechanical engineering staff and supervisors.
Person Specification: • Corporate membership of a relevant institution • Good IT skills. • Good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees and external clients. • Confident, proactive character, with a track record of taking the lead in challenging situations. • Ability to run projects successfully.
