Service Engineer based in Republic of Ireland

Your Role:
This role will provide local support to your Republic of Ireland based customers and will also provide a technical resource to support our Republic of Ireland based business development personnel. During any times of reduced service workload in Republic of Ireland, the incumbent will form part of the virtual UK workforce and will provide labour for minor project engineering works, commissioning or general UK based service work.
They anticipate selecting a candidate with strong control systems experience with the candidate being cross-trained in other Yokogawa products.
Main Tasks Include:
To assist in maintaining 24-hour cover for your clients, and to assist with quotations for the renewal of the Support Contract.
Assist in the business development of our Safety & Systems customer base with a focus on maintenance, 24-hour service cover & system modifications.
To assist in ensuring that sufficient spares are held to cover our support contracts where necessary, including Bonded Stock
To provide technical assistance for customers both external and internal, main product ranges covered will include distributed control systems, safety control systems, panel mounted stand alone products (ie chart recorders, data acquisition etc) and process control instrumentation.
To provide instrumentation calibration and validation as required (Training will be provided as appropriate).
As a secondary task, to assist with the design, installation and commissioning of systems in conjunction with the system engineering group or minor projects team
Whilst the role calls for an emphasis on DCS and ESD systems, it is required that a flexible approach is adopted towards all customer service assignments and requirements.
Required Skills:
Some experience in an industrial and technical environment.
Experience with the maintenance of Safety Shutdown & Distributed Control Systems.
HNC/ONC qualification in Control Engineering or equivalent.
Confident and with the ability to work on their own initiative but not afraid to ask for help when necessary.
Able to demonstrate a technical knowledge of emergency shutdown & distributed control systems.
Experience of overseas organisations, with the ability to communicate and co-operate with colleagues and customers from different cultural backgrounds.
