Reports to: Department Manager, Utilities Strategy
Job Purpose: • Support the Utilities Strategy Department Manager and conduct all relevant analysis required to develop the utilities strategy
Key Responsibilities: • Obtain necessary data from the Energy Management Department and support the Utilities Department Manager in validating the utilities demand figures and the corresponding phasing of utilities demand, in line with the environmental guidelines designed for the development • Gather relevant data on utilities (power, water & wastewater, waste management as well as transportation) operators that qualify for providing clean utilities services to the development • Conduct necessary analysis to support the Utilities Strategy Department Manager in identifying potential utilities partners • Conduct thorough research on new technologies in the field of sustainable utilities providers, technologies and the corresponding financial and operational implications • Conduct financial and strategic analysis on recommended utility partnership options and support the Utilities Strategy Department Manager in developing and communicating recommendations for utilities partnerships • Support the Utilities Strategy Department Manager in implementing the approved utilities strategy, represent the city’s financial and environmental interests and contribute to negotiations with potential operators • Provide full support in the implementation of partnership agreements to ensure utilities projects meet financial and schedule expectations defined in the evaluation of strategic partnerships
Job Requirements: Education –A minimum of a Bachelors degree
Experience –5+ years of experience covering commercial utilities agreements, including project finance and infrastructure developments –Experience in renewable energies is a plus –Knowledge in structuring, negotiating, growing and completing large scale utilities agreements is preferred
