We are looking for a Lead Signal Engineer to work for a large railways organisation - positions are based in Derby, York and Birmingham. ·Liaise with the Signalling Engineering Manager on matters affecting staff within the Project Engineering team ·Hold responsibility for engineering briefing of the Project Engineering team ·Attendance at the bi-monthly technical brief and completion of any necessary onward briefs to the company & sub-contract staff. ·Provide signalling project engineering support to allocated company contracts ·Undertake annual appraisals of Project Engineering team ·Ensure allocated contracts are technically compliant with the relevant Group, client & company standards ·Act as the technical contact and liaison with clients and sub-contractors in order to resolve technical issues ·Act as CRE and/or CEM on contracts as required by the Signalling Engineering Manager ·Ensure integration of design, installation and testing and that the end product meets the client specification and has technical integrity ·Carry out project risk assessments ·Attend engineering reviews as required for allocated contracts Assist in the production of method statements or work packages in accordance with client standards ·HND level education in an engineering discipline ·4 - 5 years experience of working in signalling design, installation or testing, with an in-depth knowledge of railway construction methods and materials used ·Line and team managerial experience ·PTS ·Engineering Manager (Lead Engineer) (6.8.110) IRSE licence. ·Associate Member of the IRSE, working towards corporate membership with IEng Risk assessment skills ·Organisational skills ·Customer liaison skills ·A1 & V1 audit skills ·Business management skills ·Good knowledge of Group and client standards ·In-depth knowledge of SSL processes and procedures ‘Yellow book’ trained in project engineering safety management processes |
