IT Systems Consultant - qualified in either Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Systems Engineering or Computing Science or Software Engineering - competencies in either Networks and Comms or IT / data security for airports - based Abu Dhabi – prospect of permanent employment – rate £400 to £450 per day plus flights and accommodation
We are looking for an IT Systems Consultants/Networks and Communications Engineer to work for an independent consulting and technology solutions company.
The IT Systems Consultants/Networks and Communications Engineer will need to have a background/experience in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Systems engineering, software engineering or Computer Science and strong airport experience
The IT Systems Consultants/Networks & Communications Engineer will be required to work initially at an airport in Abu Dhabi. You would be required to perform a requirements specification role, defining tender packages for a number of IT systems to support airport operation.
Candidates should have a good engineering degree (or equivalent), preferably in Systems Engineering, Computing Science, Software Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering and be a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
Experience will be needed in system design and development - Requirements elucidation, Specification preparation, tender preparation and evaluation, control of system and software developments, interface and acceptance testing, and hand-over.
Candidates must be commercially aware and able to identify business opportunities and have experience of some of the required airport systems as well as a broad knowledge of systems and software development methods and environments and Project Management experience.
The role will involve evaluating tenders, making recommendations to the client and working with the successful bidder to implement their systems.
You should be highly motivated and adaptable to change, able to make decisions and drive things forward. A solid engineering skill set and IT experience backed by the ability to think beyond the current requirements, and manage customer expectations effectively is required.
This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist consultancy team supporting the company's client through complete airport development projects. You would be working for a UK based company whose role in Abu Dhabi is to provide systems and domain expertise from project inception through to operational handover.
There is the prospect of an offer of permanent employment and deployment to other countries if the contractor wishes.
