JOB PROFILE
The Transportation unit, Bridges sub-division has been winning significant national and international projects. We are therefore expanding and developing the nationwide Bridge Engineering teams to support our capability to deliver high quality, cost effective and tailored engineering solutions to our public and private sector clients.
This specific role will be working for 2-3 years in Busan, South Korea. The engineer will be seconded to the client as site supervisor on a significant Immersed Tunnel Project.
JOB DESCRIPTION
i) The engineer shall correctly understand the books stated below and perform the Services.
- Design drawings for the construction work of the Project, general specifications, special specifications, terms of reference for authorized supervision services, terms of supervision agreement
- Foreign (UK, USA, Japan, etc.) materials in case there are no domestic materials for reference
ii) The engineer shall review drawings in relation to the services in charge, confirm correctness of construction and point out any deficiencies of those, and also, as the case may be, shall propose the measures for supplement.
iii) The engineer shall prepare and submit technical reports containing review comment on design revision relating to the services in charge, review comment on appropriateness of materials to be used, review comment on measures for prevention of disasters, items of improvement for design and construction, etc.
iv) The engineer shall record and submit a daily report.
v) Upon request of the Client, the engineer shall participate in meetings and state their opinions, and also, in case of getting inspection and audit from the Proprietary and government organizations, shall cooperate with the Client positively.
vi) The Engineer shall prepare and submit the integrated report for the duties in charge within 1 week from the completion of the services.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
We are looking for an extensively experienced post-chartered Engineer. The successful candidate will ideally be have a personal interest and extensive experience in Tunnel Engineering which will be utilised in immediately challenging Engineering projects.
i. Capability to remain on site in Busan for 2-3 years (essential).
ii. Extensive post-chartered engineering experience within Tunnel Engineering Discipline.
iii. Extensive international engineering experience of supervision of the construction and immersion of immersed tunnels.
iv. Experience of construction work design drawings and their review.
v. Experienced in reviewing and advising on contractor’s method statements.
vi. Experience of preparation and submission of technical reports and integrated reports.
vii. Experienced professional with several years post-chartered engineer status.
