Role:
Our client has a major global presence as a multi-disciplinary engineering firm responsible for large scale construction projects, and are extending all of their operations in the Middle East.
This role is a key position in developing and growing the firms transportation business in the Middle East region and will involve leading the commercial and contractual activity of the business group.
The principal function of this position is to lead the transportation business group's development activities in the Middle East.
Key accountabilities
Your priorities in this role will include:
• to work with the regional director, regional operations and resources manager and regional commercial manager to deliver the business group targets for the Middle East
• to lead and develop business development strategies in the region
• to seek, develop and sustain relationships with strategic and key clients
• to appoint and direct market sector managers
• to ensure that appropriate staff are assigned to business development tasks in the region
• to ensure efficiency of business development activities
• to achieve targets for work winning and business development expenditure
Technical / professional expertise
The successful candidate should possess a relevant degree in engineering and chartered status (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
• experience and proven track record in business development activities
• experience of directing projects and client liaison at highest levels
• experience in at least two transportation market sectors preferable
• excellent communication and inter-personal skills
• Middle East experience preferable
