A Chief Design Engineer is now required to bring gas turbine expertise into the design team at this leading international energy services company based near Baden in Switzerland.
As Chief Design Engineer you will provide the design department with turbine blading technical knowledge / experience. You will develop and train designers / draughting personnel to reach their full potential, as well as prepare technical standards/guidelines on the main aspects of design, drawing and manufacturing. You will also establish proper Design to Manufacture criteria and train designers in this field and check Engineering Drawings and Designs. You will undertake approval and release of Engineering Drawings, as well as participate in design / drawing reviews. Furthermore you will prepare part specifications in conjunction with the mechanical engineering team. The Chief Design Engineer will also provide technical support to the Engineering team and provide technical support to sales, quality, supply chain, customers & field personnel.
Successful candidates will require a mechanical Engineering Degree (FH or BSc. in Engineering) or equivalent, as well as significant experience in Design, drawing & manufacturing of high tech hot gas path components for industrial gas turbines. You will require the ability to carry out basic engineering calculations. You will also need experience in 3D CAD Design and preferably some experience in manufacture or service / maintenance of gas turbines. Leadership experience and management skills are required. Enthusiastic and highly motivated, with the ability to use your own initiative you will also have good technical English, both written and oral. German would be beneficial but is not essential as you will be working in an English-speaking environment.
