We are looking for an Airport Operational Database (AODB) Specialist / Manager to work for an independent consulting and technology solutions company in Abu Dhabi
The Airport Operational Database (AODB) Specialist / Manager would be required to ensure that the new Airport Operational Database (AODB) meets all stakeholder requirements on behalf of the company.
Candidates for the position of Airport Operational Database (AODB) Specialist / Manager must be able to validate the supplier's design and check its conformance with appropriate standards and lead the implementation of the Airport Operational Database (AODB) system on behalf of the company's client.
You would be required to co-ordinate with Operations during development and would need strong airport experience
The Airport Operational Database (AODB) Specialist / Manager would be required to work initially at an airport in Abu Dhabi and should have a good engineering degree (or equivalent), preferably in Systems Engineering, Computing Science, Software Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering and be a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
Knowledge of system design and development will be required as will an overview of Requirements elucidation, Specification preparation, tender preparation and evaluation, control of system and software developments, interface and acceptance testing, and hand-over.
Candidates must be commercially aware and able to identify business opportunities and have experience of airport systems as well as a broad knowledge of systems and software development methods and environments and, preferably, Project Management experience.
The role will involve evaluating tenders, making recommendations to the client and working with the successful bidder to implement their systems.
You should be highly motivated and adaptable to change, able to make decisions and drive things forward. A solid engineering skill set and IT experience backed by the ability to think beyond the current requirements, and manage customer expectations effectively is required.
This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist consultancy team supporting the company's client through complete airport development projects. You would be working for a UK based company whose role in Abu Dhabi is to provide systems and domain expertise from project inception through to operational handover.
The position is initially a contract role but there is the prospect of permanent employment and deployment to airports in other countries if the contractor wishes to do so
