We now recruiting for a Senior LRT Engineer for our growing Transportation Middle East team based in Abu Dhabi. The role of Senior LRT Engineer is a challenging and equally rewarding position presenting an excellent opportunity to help grow a major new business in the Middle East, to potentially work on an exciting and wide-scale and significant regional programme, as well as the opportunity to develop skills and career opportunities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The position will be leading a small team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver packages of work in the rapid transit sector as part of the larger Transportation Middle East team. The successful candidate will be based in our Abu Dhabi office and will be required to lead specific tasks and co-ordinate a growing team on prestigious major transport infrastructure schemes. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Managing the LRT sections as part of a major projects within the overall transportation sector in the region;
• Plan, design and implement LRT projects;
• Managing delivery of projects to meet quality standards and procedures;
• Interfacing with other professionals and clients;
• Communicating professionally, effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing;
• Lead specific tasks and co-ordinate a growing team on prestigious major transport infrastructure schemes;
• Take projects from initial concept, through the planning process to implementation;
• Involvement in preparation of proposals and submissions.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
As a key member of the Transportation Middle East team, the successful candidate will be involved in a range of national and international, small to large projects that are usually industry and publicly high profile. Qualifications, experience, competencies and skills for this role are:
• Degree in relevant engineering subject, or equivalent and Chartered status;
• Extensive experience of LRT engineering;
• The ability to work with little supervision;
• A track record of delivering projects on time and to budget;
• The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients (both written and orally);
• Good multi-disciplinary knowledge of transport infrastructure related issues enabling them to have a strategic overview of the project including review of work from other disciplines;
• Previous experience of supervision and co-ordination of staff;
• Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams;
• Knowledge of the design parameters for light rail and high quality bus schemes;
• Previous experience of preparing business cases would be an advantage.
