Mott MacDonald is involved a range of high profile and challenging projects within the United Arab Emirates. Current regional projects range from the vast residential and leisure complex at Dubai Marina to jet fuel storage facilities at Sharjah International Airport in addition to the 350km Mafrag upgrade project, Immersed Tunnel and Desert Island, Infrastructure Master Planning design.
As Mott MacDonald expands and develops its regional presence, we are seeking an experienced Civil/Structural business leader to become part of and become integral to these exciting and developing opportunities. This is a long-term career appointment with the opportunity to advance to more senior positions within Mott MacDonald.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will be involved on a range of small to large projects which are industry and public high profile. The roles will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Depending on project size, leading or assisting delivery on all necessary aspects of project’s design and consultancy.
• Assist senior management in alignment of sub-division strategy with unit and group strategy.
• Write the specifications for the projects and establish the schedules for all equipment and resources.
• Working within a Quality Assured environment to produce technically correct results
• Use of structural analysis packages to support bridge design
• Maintain the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of the respective discipline engineering work.
• Writing proposals and drafting reports for structural bridge inspections
• As necessary, respond to contractor queries and attend site progress meetings
• Manage and mentor junior staff ensuring their skill set and career development.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Candidates will already be in possession of relevant academic qualifications, be exceptionally experienced since post-qualified in chartership and able to demonstrate exceptional Bridge Engineering Technical competences. They should also have the necessary drive to achieve their goals and deliver commercial success. The successful candidate should also have:
• Engineering degree with several years post-professional engineering qualification experience. Any post-grad management qualification will benefit any applicant.
• Experience of detailed bridge engineering design and consultancy solutions.
• Good writing skills and be able to present concise reports.
• Strong IT skills ideally with AutoCAD experience or knowledge of bridge engineering software.
• Ideally, the candidate will have Business development experience
• International experience of Bridge Engineering will benefit any applicant.
