Landscape Architecture Design Manager - Dubai, UAE

SUMMARY
Responsible for management, review and monitoring of landscape architecture design activities and co-ordination of technical issues with focus on specific projects. Project based in project site office.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and technical design scopes for consultants and identify design elements to be undertaken for projects
• Prepare information packages for projects to issue to consultants and other project participants.
• Evaluate consultant proposals
• Manage design schedules and monitor design development and coordinate with project management consultants.
• Ensure incorporation of best practices in landscape architecture where relevant
• Review concept designs and provide direction to consultants and project Design Manager
• Review construction drawings and specifications prepared by design consultants and make recommendations accordingly
• Ensure that design information are compiled properly in construction drawings for inclusion into construction tender packages
• Collaborate with the Design Manager to secure design approvals to from statutory authorities

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

A. Education / Experience
• Bachelors degree in landscape architecture
• At least 10 years work experience in large scale new community and/or resort design
• Experience in large construction projects

B. Specific Skills/ Knowledge
• Strong knowledge of design principles in landscape architecture and urban design
• Knowledge of computer applications required for design assignments
• Strong coordination and time-management skills
• High degree of competence with the English language, knowledge of Arabic language is an advantage
