Reports to: Manager, Design Coordination
Job Purpose:
• Ensuring that all architectural detailed designs for the city are in line with the concept and schematic designs, aligned with applicable building codes, and meet the city’s sustainability standards
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed design reviews of all types of properties and structures in the city to ensure that the architectural designs allow to meet the sustainability vision of the company while adhering to local regulations and building standards and the city’s value proposition
• Coordinate with Structural / Civil, MEP, and Interior Design Coordinators to carry out architectural design modifications for interfaces of building structures as deemed necessary to meet the city’s sustainability vision
• Manage all architectural consultants on a day-to-day basis to ensure that designs and technical drawings will be carried out appropriately and aligned with the approved designs
• Conduct detailed engineering drawing reviews and follow up with construction contractor’s progress to monitor that construction progress is aligned with technical drawings
• Collaborate with project managers in identifying and flagging architectural issues
• Support the Building Design Manager in solving project implementation technical issues by attending coordination meetings, proposing and validating viable technical workarounds to the Building Design Manager and ensuring their implementation
• Understand and implement document control procedures for design calculations, technical drawing, cross-functional and external technical coordination meetings and agreements reached
• Take responsibility for and manage the various stages of the design process expediently, economically and efficiently
Job Requirements:
Education
–A minimum of a Bachelor in architecture
Experience
–7+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
–Strong working knowledge of current planning and building control legislation, contract administration and statutory requirements
–Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Freehand, Illustrator & Microsoft Office Applications
–International work experience
