JOB PROFILE
We are recruiting a Bridge Engineer for our growing Transportation Middle East team based in Abu Dhabi / Dubai. The role of Bridge Engineer is a challenging and equally rewarding position presenting an excellent opportunity to help grow a major new business in the Middle East, to potentially work on an exciting and wide-scale and significant regional programme, as well as the opportunity to develop skills and career opportunities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Bridge Engineer, you will be involved on a range of small to large projects which are industry and public high profile. The roles will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development. Key responsibilities:
• Carry out all aspects of design including railway and highways bridges;
• Working within a Quality Assured environment to produce technically correct results;
• Use of structural analysis packages to support bridge design;
• Write the specifications for the projects and establish the schedules for all equipment;
• Manage projects when required.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
The candidate should possess the essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills as listed below:
• B.Sc or B.Eng or equivalent in civil or structural Engineering;
• Chartered or near completion of Chartership with the ICE or IStructE;
• Has relevant design experience and have a personal interest in Bridge Engineering which will be utilised in a broad range of engineering projects;
• Ability to demonstrate technical excellence in bridge design engineering;
• Ability to write reports clearly, succinctly and correctly;
• Ability to communicate in English fluently;
• Excellent time management;
• Strong IT skills ideally with AutoCAD experience or knowledge of bridge engineering software;
• Ability to deliver projects within set deadlines and work autonomously when required.
