Our client is the Middle East’s leading producer of high-quality long and flat steel..

They currently need Project Managers of all levels to come in and deal with all aspects of building and commissioning a Hot Strip Mill and Direct Reduction Iron Plant with an annual capacity of 1.65m tonnes for a major Egyptian steel manufacturer.

 

 


 

You will have experience in coordination of design and execution for major industrial/steel plant projects.

You will be the contractors team leader initially in Cairo, Egypt for the design review stage and then based on site in Egypt. You will have extensive knowledge of and experience in project management.

It is also likely that you will have 15 years experience in project construction and execution, including management of safety, quality and work execution planning for the construction for major industrial/ civil projects.

The ideal candidate will, with supporting staff,

  • ensure that the EPCT Contractor’s design and construction activities implement project safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives during the construction, commissioning and start-up phases.
  • have a daily interface with the EPCT Contractor to ensure its alignment with the Contract obligations, Employer’s requirements, technical specification, project planning and Contract terms and conditions.
  • review, check and approve the QA/QC procedures (Particular Works Procedures, Particular Quality Procedures, etc.)
  • ensure that the contractor supervisory plans (QA/QC, safety, etc.) are in place prior to the start of construction and the required QA/QC systems are in place and adhered to.
  • ensure that the commissioning, start-up and handover to Operations and Maintenance plans and procedures are implemented.
  • Ensure effective project closeout.
